A Trinamool leader’s car was allegedly set on fire in Sheikhpura village of Inayatpur area under the Manikchak block, sparking tension in the region. The incident took place around 3 AM on Sunday when Sheikh Tafazzul, the leader in question, heard a loud noise from his car’s tire. Upon stepping outside, he found his vehicle engulfed in flames. Locals rushed to douse the fire, but the car was completely gutted. The fire also spread to a nearby house’s chimney, though the residents escaped unharmed.
Police from Manikchak police station arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. Authorities are yet to determine who was behind the incident and the exact motive.
